Working myself into a Nano Frenzy!

Wondering what the hell a Nano Frenzy is? I will explain!

As I have set myself the task of publishing two books a year, I am in need of a book to publish this summer. And I haven’t written it yet. I have already had a couple of e-mails asking me where the next book is, so I thought I had better get going!

So having decided I would write my new book in April, I then received an e-mail from the beautiful folk at the Office of Letters and Light, telling me they are running Camp Nano in April this year! And you can set your own wordcount. Perfect!

So I promptly signed up, and set my wordcount to 75,000. Yes, that’s right, 75,000.

Then I was discussing the screenplay of The Elphite with Eiran, and we set the completion date for the 1st June, which requires me getting on with it, so in a fit of madness, I signed up for Script Frenzy too. That’s 100 pages of script. In April. Yes, you read it right, 100 pages.

Well it should be interesting, that’s for sure… 2,500 words of original material every day, as well as 3-4 pages of screenplay, adapted from The Elphite…

Oh and did I mention I will be doing a couple of Mind Body Spirit fairs, working,  and getting on with the marketing for my other books, too?

Have they perfected the science of human cloning yet? I may need another me…

**Important News Update!**

After deciding that 2013 would be the year to just go for it, I posted a project on stage32.com – calling for writers who would be interested in turning The Elphite into a screenplay.

I had a few responses, then a director/producer called Eiran Lenton e-mailed and asked to read the book, after enjoying the sample.

The evening he finished reading the book, he said he would be very interested in turning it into a screenplay, and then directing and producing the movie…

A few phone calls and e-mails later, and the project has officially begun! It’s in the beginning stages right now, but the writing has begun, and we have started discussing casting, locations, and marketing.

Needless to say, there has been plenty of jumping around with excitement, and it’s still all a little surreal, but it’s beginning to sink in!

So if you want to know what the movie is about before it’s released, grab yourself a copy from Amazon! Or, if you would like a signed copy, just email me at elphite@live.com.

To keep up to date with the project, you can like The Elphite Facebook page or follow the project on Twitter!

I will write more movie updates soon :)

The Elphite

The Elphite is now available!

The Elphite

The Elphite is now available on Amazon in paperback, and on Kindle. Buy your copy now and get it in time for Christmas!  You can read more about The Elphite in my last blog post. The official launch is on the 21st December, in Peace of Stone in Monmouth, and there will be nibbles, mulled wine, cake and bucks fizz! There will also be signed copies available, and if they arrive in time from America, some limited edition merchandise too!

I haven’t blogged much recently due to being so crazily busy, releasing a book this close to Christmas, while working full time, working on my own business and still finding time to eat and sleep is a bit crazy, I may have to revise my publishing schedule for next year!

Well, it’s time to eat now, I look forward to feedback from my readers on my latest novel!

The Visionary Fiction Alliance

A little while ago I was invited to join a group on Goodreads for Visionary Fiction. One of the members there had spotted my books and thought they were a good fit for the group. I joined and met the other members there, who were trying to raise the profile of this emerging genre. As a group it was decided that the group should have a blog or a website, where readers or writers of the genre could interact with one another. And so, the Visionary Fiction Alliance was created. The website was just launched on the 17th August, and was blessed on the new moon by the founding members. I want to applaud the massive amount of effort and hard work the founding members have already put into it, and the work they continue to do now it is running. Please go along and have a look, and join us if you wish! There will be guest posts, reviews, interviews and more coming on a regular basis.

We look forward to you joining us!
